People often wonder why they never see Lips around the house. Some
people are surprised to learn that we even have a cat,
because they have never seen her. I've had Lips for about 16
years. This is why she doesn't come out to play.
Yes, the cats name is Lips. Long story, but her Mom's name
was Gums, so I thought Lips would be a complementary name
for the pair.
Video shot on a Sony HDR-CX12 cam, edited with Sony Vegas 8

The family took a vacation to Galtinburg TN. We spent quite a bit of
time hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains. The
kids loved the nature sights and old log cabins.
Somehow, even after a big
supper, the kids are starving before bedtime. We know we
should just send them to bed, but sometimes we give them a little
snack.
Tonight it was peanut butter toast for David, and plums for Sadie.

Uncle Jose and Aunt Dawn
took us all to a nice museum in NJ. It had a lot of cool
things to play with and lots of fish.
Sadie and David caught Santa in the act while he made a quick visit
to see if they were sleeping yet. They weren't, so he had to
get back in his sleigh and head off to the neighbors house.
We went to the Benson, NC
Corn Field Maze hoping to make a scary video. Turns out that because
of the dry summer, the corn wasn't very tall, thick, or scary.
So I made a regular kid video with a kinda creepy intro.
Just like "Bob", David
and Sadie really enjoy helping build the new Therapy Playground
clinic.
NOTE: This will be online after Kevin gets around to finishing the
video, but Therapy Playground has been up and running since the
first week of September. Finally!!

The
kids had a nice time swimming and David practiced his diving.
Sadie was a little more prissy and didn't want to get her hair
wet...
He's still learning how it all works, and has quite a while to go
before he is fully potty trained, but he does enjoy sitting and
filling the toilet with paper. He'll usually sit for 30 to 45
minutes and seems to really enjoy it.
He likes for someone to read
a book to him while he thinks about "going".
This is Kevin's first attempt at a "scary" video. It's a
fictional movie trailer for an upcoming film "Attack of the
Insomniacs".
Unfortunately, we really do have a couple of insomniacs.
Note: I never really got around to completing this video, maybe
I'll start a new one since the kids are already so much bigger now
than they were when this video was originally made.
This video is a recreation of the cartoon's intro, done with
Davie and using a cartoonish effect.
for the non-cartoonish version of the video.
The cartoon effect
was done by copying the video to two tracks, applying a medium blur
to the bottom track, and an find edges effect to the top track. Then
invert the the top track and add a multiply mask.
Poppie's new train set is in the beginning stages of construction
when Davey gets first hand experience with Poppie's train.
Maybe in a few months or so there will be another video of it
completed.
All is well until... well, you have to watch to find out!
There's a work-related story behind this video, but let's just
say that someone where I work thought it would be a good idea to
throw a hard drive repeatedly on the ground to "destroy the
data".
I wanted to make sure Davey wouldn't make this same mistake
later on in life.
Davey really wasn't crazy about getting his first haircut. He like having his long curly blonde
hair, so Sadie got hers cut first to show him how it's done.
She's a pro at this now.
Once Davey got the sucker, he was very happy.
Maybe when he's a little older he won't mind so much Renee cutting his hair.
